Today I am sharing 2 of my mayo box patties recipe, one is with chicken and the other is with veggies. These are really yummy and super easy; mayo is special ingredient in these patties. The outer covering of these patties is really crispy and incredibly delicious. You can serve these at tea time, as supper or brunch, as appetizers or starters or in lunch box of kids. Chicken Mayo Patty

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 250 g chicken mince
  • 24 All –purpose flour strips (samosa patti)
  • Ginger paste 1 tbsp.
  • 1 tbsp. garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. crushed red chili
  • ½ cup cilantro chopped
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt according to taste

Method

  • Heat 2 tbsp. oil in a frying pan.
  • Add chicken mince, garlic ginger paste, crushed red chili powder and salt in it, stir fry it well.
  • When your mince in completely cooked, remove it from the flame and add mayonnaise and cilantro in it to prepare filling.
  • In a separate bowl add 2 tbsp. of all-purpose flour pour some water in it and make a thick paste.
  • Place 2 flour strips (samosa patti ) over one another in a way that they make plus (+) sign.
  • Add 2 tbsp. of your prepared filling in the center of the strips and fold it in a way that it makes a box like shape.
  • Seal your strips with the all-purpose flour paste that is made before.
  • Now repeat the process for all of the remaining mixture.
  • Heat a pan on medium heat.
  • Deep fry your box patties in the oil till golden brown.
  • Turn the flame off when it is done and serve them out in a plate.
  • Your delicious chicken mayo box patties are ready!
  • Note: You can also freeze your box patties and when needed just defrost them and fry at medium heat.

Veggie Mayo Box Patty

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: 15 min

Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 24 Flour strips (samosa patti)
  • 250 g boiled mashed potatoes
  • 1 tsp. crushed black pepper
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • ½ cup cilantro chopped
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt according to taste

Method

  • Boil potatoes and mash them.
  • Add mayo, black pepper, red chili, cilantro and salt in it.
  • Mix them well and prepare filling.
  • In a separate bowl add 2 tbsp. of all-purpose flour pour some water and make a thick paste. It acts as binding agent.
  • Place 2 strips (samosa patti) one over another in a way that it make plus (+) sign.
  • Add 2 tbsp. of prepared filling in the center of strips and fold then in a way that it acquires box like shape.
  • Seal the edges with the all-purpose flour and water paste.
  • Repeat the same process for the rest of the mixture.
  • Heat some oil in a pan at medium flame.
  • Deep fry your patties till golden brown.
  • When they are cooked completely remove them from flame and serve in a plate.
  • Voila! Your tasty veggie mayo box patties are ready to eat.
