Chicken Chapli kebab


Chapli Kebab is really a delicious meal. The thing I love about them is, you can eat it in many ways, with a naan, with rice with bread or with nothing just as a snack. They taste amazing. You can also freeze them. Now move the recipe. Share it with your friends and do let me know your feedback.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. (1 kg) ground chicken (chicken thigh)
  • 1 tbsp. ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp. garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp. pomegranate powder (anardana powder)
  • 1 tbsp. crushed red chili
  • 1 tbsp. crushed and roasted coriander
  • 1 tbsp. crushed and roasted cumin
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. garam masala powder
  • 1 medium tomato (seeds removed)
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • 4 tbsp. green onion
  • Handful of cilantro
  • ½ cup corn flour (makai ka aata)
  • 1 egg
  • 5 to 6 tbsp. Oil for frying

Method

  • Add 1 lbs. ground chicken in a bowl, I prefer thigh piece cause it’s moist you can also use chicken breast.
  • Add ginger garlic paste in the mince.
  • Then add spices in the ground chicken.
  • Remove seeds from a medium tomato and chop it.
  • Chop 2 green chilies, if you want more spicy you can add more.
  • Chop 4 tbsp. green onion. You can use any onion of your choice like red onion.
  • Now add all the veggies tomato, green peppers, onion and cilantro in the mince.
  • Add ½ cup of corn flour, you can also add roasted baisan instead of corn flour.
  • For binding add 1 egg.
  • (if you don’t want to add egg then it is up to you, in that case reduce the amount of corn flour otherwise your kebabs will be really hard.)
  • Mix everything well.
  • (At this stage if you think consistency of your batter is thin then add 1 to 2 tsp. of corn flour to make it of the right consistency)
  • Turn the flame on, add 5 to 6 tbsp. of oil in a nonstick pan. You can use any pan but nonstick is  better.
  • Grease your hands with oil, take your ground meat and shape it according to your choice.
  • (Make kebabs of a little large than your desired size because on frying it will shrink.)
  • Wait till the oil gets hot.
  • Add your kebabs in the oil and cook for 4 to 5 min until golden brown then flip.
  • Cook the other side for another 3 to 4 min not more than this.
  • Feel free to cook your kebabs according to your taste.
  • Now it is time to dish it out, garnish your kebabs with lettuce, onion rings, tomato slices and lemon slices.
  • Voila! Your delicious chicken kebabs are ready to eat.
