There is no lover of Italian cuisine who does not succumb to a good pepperoni pizza. This spicy salami adds a delicious touch to our pizzas.
It is true that pepperoni pizza is strong, since its main
ingredient is this sausage. Of course, it is irresistible. A good homemade
pizza is wonderful, it is prepared in a very short time and it is worth encouraging
yourself to make at home.
In this case, we have to say that the secret is not only in
the dough, but in finding this ingredient, although now there is it in some
supermarkets in the delicatessen section.
If you are a pizza lover, we also recommend that you try our
chicken pizza, two ingredients that work
perfectly. And if you are looking for a lighter option, we recommend our delicious
margherita pizza. Which one do you prefer? Let's go for the recipe.
Ingredients:
- For the dough:
250 gr of flour.
5 gr. fresh yeast.
1/2 glass of water
2 tablespoons of olive oil.
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp sugar
For the pizza:
100 gr pepperoni cut into slices.
2 tablespoons of fried tomato
1 ball of fresh mozzarella.
Assorted spices: oregano, thyme, pepper, basil
Preparation:
- To start you have to prepare the pizza dough, to do this
you have to mix the flour with the salt, the yeast and the sugar, add 1/2 cup
of warm water and the oil; knead until you get an elastic dough.
- One hour before starting to prepare the pizza, cut the
mozzarella into very thin slices and place it on a plate with absorbent paper
to remove excess whey, which could soften the dough if it is not well dry.
- Preheat the oven to 250ºC, with heat up and down (it is important
that it is very hot).
- When you have your dough ready, roll it out with the help
of a kitchen roller or your hands and place it on baking paper. We like to
leave the dough very thin, but if you want it to have slightly more puffy
edges, you can leave them somewhat thicker.
- Add the tomato sauce to the dough and distribute it well
over the entire surface of the pizza dough. At this point it is important to
use a tomato sauce that does not have a lot of liquid so that it does not
moisten the dough too much.
- Sprinkle dry spices
to taste: oregano, thyme, pepper ... you can also use a preparation of spices
for pizza.
- Add the mozzarella over the tomato sauce and spread it
well throughout the pizza.
- Place the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle some more oregano over your pepperoni pizza
again.
- Put the pizza in the lower part of the oven (on the
floor). This is necessary, since in this way we will get the dough to cook just
like bread does, in a very short time.
- Bake the pizza at 250ºC, heat up and down, for 5 minutes.
Watch how the dough is going down the bottom by lifting it up with a wooden
trowel to see if it is ready. If you like crisp edges, you can place the pizza
on top of the oven and bake one more minute to brown the edges of the dough on
top.
- And now you just need to enjoy your delicious pepperoni pizza.
