Beef Lasagna

Today I am sharing the recipe of my favorite lasagna. It is super easy to make and very delicious. Do give it a try. Also If you like my recipes take a moment and share it with all your friends and family. Let's start this epic lasagna journey!

Ingredients
  • 4 whole eggs + 5 egg yolks 
  • 510g flour
  •  Roma Tomatoes
  •  Olive oil
  •  Onion
  •  Garlic
  •  Red wine
  •  Red pepper flakes
  •  Italian seasoning
  •  Fresh basil 
  • Chuck steak
  •  Ricotta cheese
  •  Mozzarella cheese

 Procedure 

Pasta sheets
  •  For the pasta sheets we are going to need 4 whole eggs + 5 egg yolks and 510g flour. Stir it with a fork, incorporating flour from the sides of the well slowly, knead until all ingredients are mixed together and flour becomes smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minute.

  • Start the pasta machine at the widest setting, divide the dough into 4 equal parts, set 1 aside and wrap the rest for later. Flatten that 1 part of the dough, dust the flour and roll it in the pasta machine, keep running the dough through it until it becomes slightly transparent when held to the light.

  • Boil water in a pot, add salt in it. Blanch the pasta sheets for 10 seconds then cool them in cold water.

 Marinara sauce 
  • Boil the water and blanch tomatoes for about 5 minutes. Cut, peel and quarter the tomatoes. 
  • Add olive oil in a pan on medium heat.
  •  Peel and dice an onion. Add diced onion in the pan.
  •  Slice 2 garlic cloves and add them in the pan.
  •  Add red wine in the pan and cook down all liquid then add tomatoes.
  •  Cover the pan with lid for 15 minutes, then add red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning and cook uncovered for 1 hour. 
  • Add fresh basil, let wilt and puree with an immersion blender.
  •  Set this aside. 

Meat 
  • Cut the chuck steak in pieces, prep the meat grinder and grind the meat.
  •  Brown and season the ground beef with salt and pepper.
  •  Combine the meat and marinara sauce.

 
Assembling
  •  Now assemble the lasagna accordingly.
  •  Firstly marinara, then pasta, then ricotta cheese, fresh mozzarella, and basil. then repeat, repeat, repeat.

  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, then cool for 2 or more hours. (for perfectly structured lasagna)
