Solar panel business model in Pakistan

      Solar panel installation business model

The solar panel system is a system that converts solar energy into electricity with the help of solar panels,
inverters, etc.

Types:

     on-grid
     off-grid

On-grid solar system:

A grid-tied solar panel system is simply a solar energy system that is connected to the electrical grid and, therefore, uses electricity from both the solar panel system and the electrical grid. Because of this,
a grid-tied solar system doesn't have to meet all of the electricity demands of the home.

Off-grid solar system:

The Off-grid Solar System is a battery-based system that requires solar batteries that may be expensive but provide backup in case of blackout and load shedding. ... This system does not allow net metering as there is no connection between the grid and the solar system.

Raw material:

            solar panel
            stand
            tubular battery
            inverter
            earthing wire
            lightning arrestor
            electricity braker

Solar panel:

There are number of companies selling panels in the market like Canadian solar, trina solar, etc. An average
solar panel comes with a 5 to 10 years warranty and 25 years efficiency warrenty. Solar panels are classified

into 3 grades:
            A grade
            B grade
            C grade
using A-grade solar panels is important because the production of electricity depends on panel quality. There are companies in the market that are selling panels for very cheap rate but the panels are not good to use. then there is another thing that panel's reduces with time. an average 2 percent loss in efficiency of a panel. All this means that if, your solar system is producing 1000w in the first year may be in next year it may comes to 920w. Then if we come to the panels in market there are panels in different price tag and now the panels are available, from 100w to 500w panels.

Stand:

A stand is used for installing panels on it.

Tubular battery:

In solar off-grid systems batteries are used but in on-grid system installing batteries is optional. tubular batteries are not the normal home used batteries these batteries come with thick lead plates and that's why considered good for backup. there are many brands selling tubular batteries in market like phonix, exide, ags, etc.
the lifespan of a battery is about 1.5 to 2 years.

Inverter:

choosing a good inverter is very good for your business. there are inverters present in market but before buying any inverter first go for a market survey. There are local made inverters and also the branded inverters are present. The price of an inverter depends on quality, brand, efficiency, etc.

Electric breaker:

these are the simple breakers used in homes and are easily available in the market.

Maintenance:

In on-grid solar system the maintenance is just for your solar panels, if the battery is not installed. while in on-grid solar system there are cost of battery maintenace or after two years maybe you have to change the battery. Than there is one more thing after every 15 days you have to wash the panels for batter production of
 electricity.

Net metring:

Net metering Pakistan is an electricity policy for consumers, who own/plan to setup a Renewable Energy facility, which allows them to produce electricity (using solar) for their own use and supply the excess produce to the national grid setting-off units of electricity consumed during off-peak hours or at times when the production from the RE facility is not enough to meet the consumer load. The consumer will either pay a reduced utility bill or get paid for access energy exported to the grid.
NEPRA, in September 2015, issued its net-metering regulations that allow the DISCOs in Pakistan to purchase excess units of electricity produced by the consumers and net them off against the units consumed from the grid. As per these regulations, any customer of the national grid (having a three-phase connection) can avail the net-metering facility for small-scale (1kW to 1MW).
